Night Guards and Grinding Prevention
Teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, happens while we are sleeping and we don’t even know it.
Primarily seen in adults, teeth grinding is also very common in children. However, with children their jaws and teeth are growing so rapidly it is usually not a damaging habit that requires treatment. Most children will outgrow the habit by the time they reach adolescence. Teeth grinding is caused by a variety of factors such as stress, anxiety, an abnormal bite, and even sleep disorders.
Floss can fit you with a custom night guard to protect your teeth during sleep. Molds will be taken of your teeth to ensure a perfect fit. Once fitted with their new appliance, patients have noticed a significant reduction if not fully eliminating the symptoms they had previously experienced from teeth grinding.
